Reputation
All of the physicians at University Eye Specialists are certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. In addition, our doctors are experts in glaucoma care, having completed fully accredited glaucoma fellowships. University Eye Specialists is a referral practice for complex glaucoma patients coming from other physicians throughout Chicagoland, as well as from physicians around the country. We welcome difficult and challenging cases requiring complex treatment and these have added to our many years of clinical experience. The doctors at University Eye Specialists have also been chosen to be the team ophthalmologists for the Chicago Blackhawks.
Education
Our clinical care is coupled with national research and public education efforts in eye care. Our doctors have pioneered research in glaucoma, leading to the development of new treatments and identifying those patients most at risk for vision loss. University Eye Specialist doctors have published numerous scientific papers and book chapters on ocular diseases and surgery. We lecture and teach not only at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, but also at other medical institutions around the country. We participate in educational outreach nationally through the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. Locally, we founded Chicago Glaucoma Society and hold leadership roles on the Board of the Chicago Ophthalmological Society.
