Botox

Crow's feet, eyebrow furrows and forehead wrinkles can all cause individuals to look older than they feel. Botox cosmetic is an FDA-approved agent that can be injected beneath the skin to reduce the appearance of these wrinkles. Botox works by targeting the muscles in the face and around the eyes, forcing these muscles to relax. This leads to a smoother, wrinkle-free appearance to the skin that overlies these muscles.

Botox has been shown to be very effective in treating glabellar lines, also commonly referred to as eyebrow furrows and frown lines. Crow's feet, often seen on the skin just outside of the eyelid towards the ears, also can be reduced and even eliminated temporarily with Botox. Finally, forehead wrinkles can be made to be less prominent with Botox.

Botox cosmetic treatments are generally very safe. A few patients might experience temporary discomfort or small bruises at the injection sites, but most have no side effects at all. Botox treatments generally last for about 3 to 4 months and these treatments can be repeated as many times as warranted.
